I made a trailer for the upcoming release of John Scalzi's science fiction book, The Last Colony. It is a sequel to Old Man's War and The Ghost Brigades. (The music is by Scalzi himself. All the art, animation, etc....except for the book cover, was done by me.)
Not bad. The fading in of the text could use a bit of work to make it happen a bit more smoothly. For some reason the text fading out looks a lot more natural. A different font, a smoother one, would be appropriate as well.
That's about my only gripe, the text itself. Other than that, good job. The leaves looked really good except for the last one that fell very slowly but also not fluidly.

Orpheum: Yeah, I think the text could be smoothed up a bit more, but some of it is also due to how Flash compresses things. (Also why I can't make an AVI--because the text goes hella jaggy. I'm still trying to fix that...got any suggestions?)
I think I learned a bit making this animation....hopefully the next one will be better.
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of suggestions on what you can do. I'm no Flash pro in any sense of the word. Who you might want to contact, though, is our dearest Esset (Johan). He's amazing with Flash. He can probably give you a few suggestions.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
