Artist's Comments

I'm not precisely sure who The Horned She is in my personal mythology, but she has a fondness for octopi. (The octopus is a symbol of the ancient creative forces, deeper mysteries, and in some traditions, female sexuality.)

You'll notice her belly is made of glass, and she has two cave fish--one lighter, one darker--swimming around in her belly.

(Sketched in pencil, scanned and painted in Photoshop. Not sure how long this took, I lost track of the time.)

elizabeth!!!! i can not believe i sumbled upon this on the FRONT PAGE in the most recent submissions (normally things get shoved off so fast from there) but this caught my eye! and lo and behold, its you!

i havent seen anything from you for a very long while. and oh my god, this is fucking beautiful... i cant even explain it.

if this doesnt become a DD then i will be mad. lol

amazing work, seriously, the highlights, the shading, the COLOR... damn!

you need to make this a PRINT! =D

She is not one I would want to tangle with. I like the rich, dark detail on the pillars and arches.
